Entrepreneur, operator and investor
Chris Chaney is the Founder and Managing Partner of C4+, his personal holdings company across sports, video gaming, esports and other industries. His career combines founding businesses, building organizations, advising entrepreneurs and investing in emerging companies.
He founded Infinite Esports & Entertainment and served as president and a board member. Infinite brought together OpTic Gaming, the Houston Outlaws and complementary businesses in marketing, media, player development, performance, events and merchandise. The company achieved a successful exit through its acquisition by Immortals Gaming Club in 2019.
He also co-founded Fancurve, bringing his experience in sport and fan communities into digital fashion.
Chris’s investment and advisory experience spans sports properties, gaming businesses and the services that support them. TMRW Sports named him among its initial investors in 2022. He is also part of Fitz Gate Ventures’ Friends of Fitz network.
His current venture work includes developing girls’ sports academies that combine athletic training, academic excellence and leadership development.
A foundation in commercial sport
After graduating from Princeton in 2007, Chris joined the NBA’s Global Marketing Partnerships group. His work involved major consumer brands and the commercial relationships connecting a global sports league with its partners.
He founded Chaney Sports Group in 2008. The business supported sports and entertainment companies through business development, commercial partnerships and growth-capital advisory. Its work included Nitro Circus and Hayabusa Fightwear. Later, his gaming and esports advisory experience included Qiddiya in 2023–2024.
Creating opportunities for others
Chris founded the Princeton Sports Symposium while still a student in 2006. The initiative became the Ivy Sports Symposium and expanded into a broader organization supporting sports business education. Student planning teams, graduate fellowships, the SportsPro 10 NEXT awards and international events gave the work several complementary forms.
His Princeton leadership also included the State of Black Men in America conference and the Black Men’s Awareness Group. He later established Sports Leaders of Tomorrow and co-founded the Michigan Sport Business Conference’s BIG Initiative with Brandon Rhodes.
Education and recognition
A native of Germany, Chris earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a certificate in African American Studies at Princeton University in 2007. His early entrepreneurial work included Crossover, a basketball lifestyle apparel business launched with funding won in a Princeton business-plan competition.
Before Princeton, he attended Martin-Schleyer-Gymnasium in Lauda-Königshofen, where his activities included student government, the youth city council and founding and managing ETSV Lauda Basketball Club. He is fluent in German and English.
His recognition spans university service and sports business entrepreneurship: the Spirit of Princeton Award, the Distinguished Undergraduate Athletic Service Award, Partnership Activation Rising Stars, Forbes 30 Under 30 and Sports Launch Thirty Under 30. His student leadership was also featured in Shaun R. Harper’s report on Black male college success.
